Tony Gavin grew up in Monmouth but moved to Rochester when he was 16. Upon graduating from Rochester High School in 2001, Tony joined the basketball team at Culver Stockton College.

At Culver Stockton, he majored in business administration with a minor in communication – and he also met his wife Beth, who was on the school’s volleyball team. The couple lived in Quincy following graduation, where Tony quickly realized that he was interested in pursuing a career in the banking industry. He accepted a position with INB in Springfield.

The opportunities for advancement appealed to Tony, and in his early years at INB, Tony gained experience in a variety of areas, from teller to banker. He moved into the position of credit analyst in 2008 and has been a commercial lender since 2014.

Having experience in various positions at the bank has proved valuable for Tony, allowing him to understand firsthand the processes involved in retail, credit analysis and other sectors of the bank that he collaborates with on a daily basis.

Tony’s lifelong love of basketball continues as well. He serves as an assistant varsity coach for Rochester High School, and he enjoys coaching the teams of his two sons, Grady and Brooks. He credits INB for giving him the autonomy to balance his career, his family and his involvement in community basketball. It’s especially rewarding to build relationships that transfer across his work and interests.

“I really enjoy the people at INB and the customers I work with, and it’s great to see those same people at athletic events; being part of this community is really gratifying,” Tony says.
