Evan Westlake was born and raised in Central Illinois. After graduating from Tri-City High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and then an MBA from the University of Illinois-Springfield. During undergrad, he met his future wife, Courtney. Courtney and Evan have one son and one daughter and live in Sherman.

Evan knew that he wanted to go into the banking field during his first finance course at the U of I. He had been a customer with INB since he opened his first savings account as a kid, and he thought it would be a good fit. Evan started working at INB in the summer of 2004 as a part-time teller and performed those duties through winter and summer breaks in college. After a year-long absence working for a regional bank, Evan knew he wanted to be back at INB. Evan’s second INB adventure started in July 2008 when he was hired as a credit analyst in the Commercial Lending Department. After two-plus years as a credit analyst, he began transitioning into his current role in commercial lending. Evan shares his banking expertise on the INB blog.

In addition to a full work and home life, Evan is board president of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. His work there is very important as he has experienced firsthand the importance of family being close during a health crisis.
